As of January, 2009, There is now a mandatory physical assessment for the position of Police Officer Recruit. the physical fitness assessment will become a pass/fail portion of the process. This assessment is based upon Cooper's Institute Standards which are accessible though a link on the Recruiting home page. The minimum passing percentile for TPD is 40 percent overall depending on your age and gender. This overall percentage is determined by averaging percentile scores for the 1.5 mile run, 300 meter run, sit-ups, push ups and vertical jump.

All AZPOST certified Police Officers who are interested in becoming a TPD Reserve Officer, please send your Name, DOB, Agency you are currently with and mailing address to recruit1@tucsonaz.gov We will send you the 29 page application questionnaire specific to the reserve process. You may also come to the main police station (270 S. Stone Ave.) during normal business hours to pick it up from recruiting.

The Recruiting/Public Relations and Education Unit will be at the Congregation Anshei Isreal for the "Keep On Truckin'" car show. All proceeds will benefit the synagogue's youth education programs. Entrance cost is $2.00 per person. Food and drinks available for purchase. Come out and ask the recruiters questions about the Tucson Police Department.
